The Heritage Kitchen Table

If you’re the one in your family who still cares how bread is supposed to taste – who lights up at the mention of Abendbrot, real German sourdough, or a recipe your grandmother used to make – you’ve found your people.

A Seat at the Table

I started Our Gabled Home because I believe the old ways deserve a real place in modern life. Not out of nostalgia, but because baking from scratch and cooking from heritage actually make daily life better. More grounded. More nourishing. More yours.

The Heritage Kitchen Table is where that happens.

It’s where I share what doesn’t fit in a YouTube video. The deeper techniques. The heritage conversations. The troubleshooting help where I can hear your actual question and give you a real answer. I’ve been baking this way for over 40 years – I have a few of those.

And the community here is something special. Women ( and men, of course!) who show up, share what they’re baking, ask the questions they’ve been afraid to ask elsewhere, and quietly remind each other: you can do this.

If you’ve ever wished you had a trusted friend with decades of German heritage baking behind her – someone who’d just sit with you at the kitchen table and talk it through – that’s exactly what this is.
